Volunteer Program

There are many volunteer opportunities here at NH Healthy Kids. If you are interested in helping us forward the cause of advancing children's health coverage, please consider the following service opportunities:

Community Events
Attend health fairs, child fairs and resource fairs as a representative of NH Healthy Kids.  Share information about Healthy Kids programs and answer questions about how to apply.  Commitment depends on the interest level of the volunteer.

Volunteer Application Assistance
At both public events and in conjunction with other service organizations, such as WIC and Soup Kitchens, volunteers assist families in applying for Healthy Kids coverage.  There are opportunities within and outside regular business hours.  Commitment once per month or more depending on the interest level of the volunteer.

Health Insurance 101
We have just piloted a program for high school students which is aimed at teaching young adults about health insurance, why it's important, and how to get it.  We plan to adapt this workshop for recent immigrants to our state.  Volunteers must be comfortable in a classroom setting.  Commitment varies with interest level of volunteer.

Volunteer Requirements
All volunteers must be 16 years or older and have transportation to and from the volunteer opportunity.  Volunteers must also attend the two hour NH Healthy Kids volunteer training.  Some opportunities may require additional training.
