How do I know which program to choose?
You do not need to apply for a specific program. Based on the information you provide, we will determine which program your child is eligible for. To avoid delays, please fill out the application completely. Be sure to include all documents needed to verify your child's eligibility.

Can I apply if I am not a U.S. citizen but my child is?
Yes, we only look at the citizenship of your child.
Can Legal Guardians and Grandparents apply for children?
Yes, as a legal guardian or grandparent, you may apply for a child in your custody. Your income will not be counted, unless you have adopted the child. However, the child's income will be used to determine eligibility.
Can I apply for a child not living in my home?
In order for us to determine if your child is eligible, it is necessary for the application and supporting documents to reflect information about the household in which the child primarily lives. If your child is uninsured, we encourage the custodial parent to submit a new application with the required information.
Can I fax my application and documents to NH Healthy Kids?
Yes, your signed application and supporting documents can be faxed. However, we may need to request that original documents be mailed to us.

I do not agree with the eligibility that was determined. Who can I talk to about this?
If you do not agree with your determination, please call us at 1-877-464-2447 to speak with the Family Service Specialist who determined your child's eligibility.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Yes, services for existing health conditions are covered as soon as coverage begins.
When does coverage begin?
Healthy Kids Gold coverage could start as early as the date we received your application.
Healthy Kids Silver coverage begins on the first day of the month after we receive your first payment. Click here for more information about the Healthy Kids Silver program.
Who do I contact if I get a bill from my provider for a service that was not covered?
For questions about services covered by Healthy Kids Gold, contact Medicaid Client Services at 1-800-852-3345, press 1, ext. 4344.
For questions about Healthy Kids Silver or Buy-In covered medical benefits, contact Harvard Pilgrim at 1-888-333-4742. Contact Northeast Delta Dental at 1-866-848-2608 or 603-223-1011 for questions about Silver or Buy-In dental benefits.
How long can my child stay enrolled?
Children can stay enrolled in NH Healthy Kids up to age 19. Your children's eligibility will be reviewed every 12 months. You must also tell us if you move, change jobs, have a change in pay, or anything else which might affect your child's eligibility.
If your child is on Healthy Kids Silver or Buy-In you must make your monthly payment to maintain coverage.
How do I cancel my NH Healthy Kids coverage?

Concord, NH 03301or call 1-877-464-2447 ext. 235 and leave a message in the cancellation voicemail box. In order to cancel for the next month, we must receive your request by the last day of the current month. For example, if you would like to cancel for August 1st, you must notify us by July 31st.
When will I receive my child’s insurance cards?
If your child has been enrolled in Healthy Kids Gold before, please use the Gold cards you already have. If you have misplaced your cards, please call 1-877-464-2447 ext. 249.
If your child has not been enrolled in Healthy Kids Gold before, you will receive his/her Gold card within 10 business days from the date of determination.
You will receive separate Healthy Kids Silver or Buy-In medical and dental insurance cards for each child from Harvard Pilgrim and Northeast Delta Dental. These should arrive by the 15th of the month after your child’s coverage begins.
I lost my child’s ID card. How do I get a new one?
If your child is enrolled in the Healthy Kids Gold program, please call 1-877-464-2447, ext. 249 for a replacement ID card.
If your child is enrolled in the Healthy Kids Silver or Buy-In program, please call Harvard Pilgrim Health Care at 1-888-333-4742 for a replacement medical card or Northeast Delta Dental at 1-866-848-2608 or 603-223-1011 for a replacement dental card.
How can I find a doctor or dentist who will accept NH Healthy Kids?
If your child is enrolled in the Healthy Kids Gold program, please call 1-800-852-3345, press 1, ext. 4344 and ask for assistance finding a provider in your area.
