Premium Payment Policies
If you are having problems making your premium payment on time, please call our accounting department at 1-877-464-2447 ext. 241. We may be able to provide assistance if you have encountered a temporary loss of income or an unexpected expense.
Healthy Kids Silver
If your child is enrolled in the Healthy Kids Silver program, your premium is due on the last day of the month for the upcoming month. For example, your payment for February benefits is due on January 31. If you miss two premium payments, your child’s insurance may be cancelled. NHHK makes several attempts to reach you by phone and mail before your account is cancelled for nonpayment.
Healthy Kids Buy-In
Premiums for the Healthy Kids Buy-In program are due one month in advance. For example, payment for your May benefits is due April 1.
If you sign up for our Automatic Premium Withdrawal (APW) option, your monthly premium will be electronically withdrawn from your designated bank account on the 30th of each month for the upcoming month’s benefits. For example your payment for May benefits will be deducted on April 30th (if the 30th of the month falls on a holiday or weekend your payment will be processed on the last business day prior to the 30th).
NH Healthy Kids makes several attempts to reach you by phone and letter before your account is cancelled for non-payment. Accounts not paid are processed for cancellation on the first of the month. There is a one-time chance for re-instatement if payment is received by the 7th of the month. Click here to view the Healthy Kids Buy-In Payment Policy.
Accounts Cancelled for Non-Payment
Accounts cancelled for non-payment are not eligible to re-enroll in Healthy Kids for three months. At that time you will need to complete the application process again.
Refunds for Prepaid Benefits
Prepaid premiums are refunded only if we receive notice of cancellation before the first day of the prepaid benefit month. For example, if you have paid for February, you must cancel by January 31 to receive a refund.
