At NH Healthy Kids, we know that having health insurance can make the difference in whether or not a family is able to make ends meet. We know you’re busy, and we want to make it easy for you to connect uninsured kids to coverage, and to help families maintain coverage for those children that are already enrolled. Connecting Kids to Coverage in the CAP or Welfare Office…You CAN Make a Difference!

Small gestures can make a world of difference for kids without insurance. Here are just a few ways CAP and Welfare Offices can help connect kids to coverage:

Screen for health insurance status on intake forms
Include NHHK materials and information in food baskets
Send NHHK materials home in routine mailings to families
Learn how to help a family complete an application for coverage (sign up for a HK 101 presentation below)
Help enrolled families to stay enrolled; ask families with enrolled kids when their renewal date is, and offer help completing the renewal forms
Learn about our income guidelines and share them with families who may be eligible
Invite our outreach team to your community events; we can provide information and materials

60 MINUTE HEALTHY KIDS 101 PRESENTATION:

This educational presentation covers the basics of the NHHK program including a brief history, how the program works, and how YOU can help a family to apply right in your office. Time for questions and answers is included in the live webinar and in-person options, please allow an additional 20-30 minutes for these versions.
